Yes, iOS has encryption turned on by default. It works with both the user's password and Touch ID. However, default device encryption secures only some of users’ private data, like calls and messages.
Apple encrypts your passwords, Wi-Fi credentials, call data, and messages. However, end-to-end encryption does not apply to your iCloud backups.
iOS encrypts users’ personal data with the AES-256 encryption key and uses AES-128 to sync data to iCloud.
